The objective of this project was to map out all of Southeastern Indiana Gas Company’s infrastructure using GPS equipment to locate all of their lines, meters, regulators, and valves. We also tied pictures to every structure of their system and labeled everything with attribute information, so when they go on their Geographic Information Services (GIS) software, they can see all of the information about each line with an aerial background, and look at pictures to have a clear understanding of where their utilities are. They also have georeferenced data that enables them to use a GPS to go find the lines on the ground based on where we located them.
